The next free food distribution event through the Community Nutrition Network will be Saturday, April 5 at McGuire Chevrolet. Please (if you can) print off the flyers below and post them around town. Help spread the word to feed those in need.
There is a need for volunteers to help spread the word and get flyers posted around Clare and Harrison. The way people hear about his event is through word of mouth and flyers are a great way to spread the word.
“We are especially in need of volunteers at on April 5th. We need a few to be there by 9:00 a.m. to help with registration. We need a whole lot people to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. which is when the food truck arrives. When the food truck arrives, volunteers help unpack the pallets and bag any of the produce that is not yet bagged and then hand out the food once the distribution begins (and those who are really strong assist some of our patrons in putting the food in carts and transporting it to their vehicles). Others help break down the boxes which are taken to be recycled. The food distribution is usually over by 2:00 p.m. Volunteers don’t need to stay the whole time; any volunteer time is appreciated. Tell a neighbor and bring a friend!
If you can volunteer and/or recruit any others, please reply and let me know. Volunteers may also register for and receive food as well.
Also, everyone is welcome at our monthly planning meetings. The next meeting will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18th, at the Department of Human Services (DHS) located at 725 Richard Dr. in Harrison.”
