At the Clare City Commissioner’s meeting on Monday night, offices Chad Williams (left) and Brian David (middle) were honored and presented with Life-Saving Pins by Mayor Pat Humphrey (right).
Williams and David responded to Millers General Repair at 3681 E. Surrey Road to assist on a call of a man caught in a lathe.
Officer Williams was the first on the scene of the horrific accident. Williams arrived to find the male subject. Johnathan Miller of Clare, lying on the ground near a pool of blood. Williams then used the AED and began CPR on the man and was then assisted by Officer David who arrived shortly after him until MMR arrived on scene.
Both officers then assisted MMR to the Clare ER.
City Manager Ken Hibl wrote, “Their heroic actions are deserving of recognition and merit.”
And that is exactly what Mayor Humphrey did when he presented the two men with their Life-Saving Pins.
